May 4 – OneWeb Global Ltd., which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the United States in March, received multiple initial letters of interest from potential purchasers. Final binding bids are due June 26, along with a deposit equal to 10% of bid value, and an auction is scheduled for July 2.
One of the biggest problems lies in the intellectual property ownership in joint ventures. The commercial reality is that where there is no agreement in place any intellectual property resulting from the joint venture may be jointly owned. This rule applies even if this is not what the parties intended.

Insolvency is a common issue in the construction industry. While newspaper headlines frequently focus on the top ten to 15 large contractor insolvencies, this is not reflective of how insolvency impacts the industry as a whole.
In all construction projects, there is a long tail of smaller contractors that are adversely impacted by an insolvency event that occurs further up the chain. As a result, when parts of the supply chain fall apart, the tremors can be felt by large sections of the industry.
