    Recent developments

    The Hong Kong Government has released its major proposals for introducing a new statutory corporate rescue procedure. At the same time, it has published the consultation conclusions for improving the corporate insolvency and winding up provisions in the Companies (Winding Up and Miscellaneous Provisions Ordinance) (Chapter 32) (“C(WUMP)O”). The Government plans to introduce an amendment bill into the Legislative Council in 2015.

    First Regulation on Dissolution, Liquidation and Bankruptcy of Insurance Companies

    The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has issued the first regulation on the dissolution, liquidation and bankruptcy of insurance companies. On 11 December 2015, enacted Regulation No. 28/POJK.05/2015 on Dissolution, Liquidation and Bankruptcy of Insurance Companies, Syariah Insurance Companies, Reinsurance Companies and Syariah Reinsurance Companies (POJK 28).
