    Motion for stay pending appeal - denied in district court

    On August 23, 2016, Judge Sue L. Robinson of the Delaware District Court issued an Order denying an appellant’s motion for stay pending appeal. The decision was issued in a appeals arising from the Molycorp Bankruptcy (which is docketed, at case 15-11357 in the Delaware Bankruptcy Court). The appeals are docketed in the District Court as Case Numbers 16-286 and 16-288. A copy of the Opinion is available here.

    Wolverine Tube files bankruptcy, hoping to confirm prearranged plan
    2010-11-20

    On October 31, 2010, Wolverine Tube, Inc. ("Wolverine") filed petitions for bankruptcy in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. According to the Declaration of Wolverine's President in Support of Debtors' Petitions (the "Declaration"), the company's bankruptcy filing resulted from several factors, most notably a drop in cash due to volatility in commodity prices and high debt obligations.     American Safety Razor files for bankruptcy, citing slow growth and increased competition

    Introduction

    American Safety Razor Company ("ASR"), one of the largest manufacturers of shaving razors and blades, filed for bankruptcy protection in Delaware on July 28, 2010. According to the Declaration of ASR's Chief Financial Officer, Andrew Bolt (the "Bolt Declaration"), the company's net sales for 2009 totaled $330 million, down from the $351 million in sales achieved in 2008.     Chp. 7 trustee files preference actions in HomeBanc Mortgage bankruptcy

    George Miller, the Chapter 7 Trustee in the HomeBanc Mortgage bankruptcy, recently filed approximately 400 preference actions against various defendants under section 547 of the Bankruptcy Code. According to a Summons filed in one of the adversary actions, the first pre-trial conference is scheduled in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware on April 21, 2010. The HomeBanc bankruptcy, along with these adversary actions, are before the Honorable Kevin J.

    Operator of Champps Kitchen and Bar, and Fox and Hound, files for chapter 11 protection in Delaware

    The operator of the Fox and Hound, Bailey’s Sports Grille and Champps Kitchen and Bar chains filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Wednesday, August 10th, listing debts that significantly exceeded assets.

    Last Call Guarantor LLC and at least eight affiliates (“Debtors”) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. The filing constitutes the second bankruptcy filing for chain restaurants.
