Claire’s, a well-known specialty retailer of jewelry, accessories and beauty products for young women and adolescents, is based in Cook County, Illinois.

Scottish Holdings, Inc., Charlotte, NC based reinsurance company, has, along with a single affiliate, filed a petition for relief under Chapter 11 in the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware (Lead Case No. 18-10160).

Boston Herald, Inc., along with three affiliates and subsidiaries, has filed a petition for relief under Chapter 11 in the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware (Lead Case No. 17-12883). The Herald’s Petition estimates both its assets and liabilities to be between $10 – $50 million.

GST Autoleather, Inc., a manufacturer of leather interior products for automobiles based in Southfield, Michigan, along with five of its subsidiaries and affiliates, has filed a petition for relief under Chapter 11 in the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware (Lead Case No. 17-12100).

In an era when goods or materials often originate from suppliers or manufacturers outside the United States, bankruptcy courts are grappling with when “receipt” of goods occurs for the purpose of 503(b)(9) claims.
