Chinese-Owned Tech Trader Exits Slovakia

One of the largest Chinese-linked companies operating in Slovakia, Bluefin Century, has filed for bankruptcy, signaling a sudden exit from a market where it had generated tens of millions of euros in annual revenue, The Slovak Spectator reported. Founded in 2011 by Alica Cséfalvayová, Bluefin Century built a business importing and exporting mobile phones at scale, distributing brands such as Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi across more than 30 countries. Despite its global reach, the company maintained only a small operational base in Slovakia.

Analysis: Number of Personal Bankruptcies in Slovakia Down 20% Y-o-Y in August

The number of personal bankruptcies in Slovakia decreased by 20 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) to 688 in August, the third lowest figure seen this year, according to an analysis published by CRIF – Slovak Credit Bureau (CRIF SK), which manages the credit registries of banking and non-banking houses, TASR.SK reported. Of the total number of bankruptcies, 428 concerned men and 260 women, confirming the long-term trend that men go bankrupt more often than women. "Men accounted for over 62 percent of personal bankruptcies in August.
