Introduction With the same “aim of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of insolvency proceedings having cross-border effects” (recital 8 of Council Regulation (EC) No 1346/2000 of 29 May 2000 on insolvency proceedings [Regulation 2000]), the current Regulation (EU) 2015/848 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 May 2015 on insolvency proceedings (the Regulation) seeks to “improve the application of certain of its provisions” (recital 1).
