Australia is currently discussing what reforms are required to attract investment into the agribusiness sector. However, one voice has been largely missing from this discussion: offshore and domestic financial investors.
To help rectify this, Allens has today released the results of a survey of senior Australian and offshore investment professionals covering agribusiness corporations, fund managers, private equity, sovereign wealth funds, and banks and other lenders.
As the survey was conducted by live interviews, the results include both hard data and individual responses on issues as diverse as Australia's reputation as an investment destination, preferred investment models, thoughts on the future role of the family farm, reaction to decisions on foreign investment, and infrastructure/R&D priorities.
We hope the survey will help illuminate the key issues facing domestic and foreign investors in the sector and gather their insights in order to assist the Government in formulating policies to foster Australia’s competitive advantages.
