AlixPartners Announces New Book on Stakeholder Management in Restructuring

Dear Steve,

We're pleased to announce the publication of a new book in German edited by AlixPartners Managing Directors Michael Baur, Jan Kantowsky and Axel Schulte: Stakeholder-Management in der Restrukturierung: Perspektiven und Handlungsfelder in der Praxis (Stakeholder Management in Restructuring: Perspectives and Actions in Practice). The book, published by Springer Gabler, features interviews with 31 key figures in corporate restructuring in Europe and beyond today, including well-known private-equity owners, bankers, hedge-fund operators, attorneys, corporate executives, credit insurers and even a trade-union leader.

With the situation in Europe today threatening the interests of companies and others all around the globe, this comprehensive book breaks new ground delving into the interests and motives of individual stakeholders right now. It also explains the function and role that a chief restructuring officer (CRO) can play in reconciling competing interests – not a new concept in America, of course, but one that perhaps Europe and other regions might benefit from exploring further.

The book also contains valuable "on-the-job" insights gained from years of personal experience in the field by editors Baur, Kantowsky and Schulte.

Here's what Andrea Varese, member of the management board and chief risk officer at HypoVereinsbank AG had to say about the book: "Finally – a book which provides a comprehensive view of the specific points of view, strategies and areas of action of the various stakeholders in restructuring. Against the backdrop of increasingly complex restructuring cases, it's a 'must-have' for anyone involved in restructuring."

More information about the book can be found at: www.stakeholder-management-restrukturierung.de. In addition, a whitepaper in English based in part on the book, A Manager for a New Beginning, can be downloaded on the right-hand side of this screen.
