Serbia in Talks to Sell Insolvent Glassmaker SFS

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said that the government is in talks with potential investors for the sale of insolvent glassmaker Srpska Fabrika Stakla (SFS), reported. "We are in talks with potential investors, they are conducting a due diligence, an analysis of the financial situation and the potential of the factory," Brnabic said as seen in a video file posted on the website of Tanjug news agency on Saturday. The sale of the glassmaker would be an investment of strategic importance for Serbia as the country could become an exporter of glass products for the entire region of Southeastern Europe (SEE), she noted. SFS was taken over in 2012 by international group Glass Industry, affiliated with runaway Bulgarian businessman Tsvetan Vasilev, who sold it to Belgrade-based arms dealer CPR Impex in 2015. SFS was declared bankrupt in 2017. Read more.
