East Yorkshire Contractor Enters Administration

East Yorkshire contractor PDR Construction, which Construction News revealed on Tuesday had ceased work on its sites across the country, has appointed administrators. The £83m-turnover main contractor had made all its staff redundant ahead of the administration, a statement from Leonard Curtis Business Rescue & Recovery has revealed. The statement blamed the impact of the pandemic on contracts, as well as a “significant” recent failed adjudication, which the administrator has not given details of. As reported by CN earlier this week, a winding-up petition was filed against the company by a subcontractor last week. Joint administrator Phil Deyes said: “The company has experienced challenging market conditions including the timely delivery of a number of recent projects, resource issues within the sector principally as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and contractual disputes with private clients including a recent significant lost adjudication.
